Puerto Rico is so amazing, and despite everything the island and my family has gone through; the land is still the most beautiful place on earth. Never a time I can’t wait to go back.
It was such a blessing going to an new place and celebrating love. Absolutely loved Dallas and Fort Worth.
Throughout the years working in advertising I've seem to detach myself from what I use to love doing. Painting. However now at 26 I've felt a need to create again. While reconnecting with my childhood art teacher and having a fresh need to decorate an empty apartment I've gotten back to dong what I use to love.
Lately I've been inspired by Rothko and decided to create a layout similar to his. However in respect to Rothko he would water down his paint with turpentine and create vibrant colors by adding layer upon layer of paint. For my piece I started with a thin layer of watered down acrylic (similar to what Rothko would do) and painted a blend of a light yellow to a faint orange. From there I blotted the paint with a paper towel to create texture. After that I placed paint right on the work and mixed it on the canvas. This is where the thick strokes come in. In the center of the two color fields are thick coated strokes where you can see the contrast of colors and direction of the brush. Towards the edges it fades and blends similar to Rothko, however instead of having the paint bleed I used a dry brush to fade.
Something so simple can be so complex. Getting wrapped in the texture and direction of the brush stokes I've made something I can get lost in. Evidence of something that was there clear as day unable to see it. It's an interesting thought.
Atelier & Repairs is a business whom's goal is to be an initiative and not just a brand. Within the fashion industry they eliminate excess and transform textiles that already exist. Over the summer of 2017 I got to spend a few months with them on site in Los Angeles. They're a start up retail business but for now I must say they have been my favorite clients. The task for them was to audit their visual language and create a look and feel for their social media.
In addition to auditing and directing their social media, I also took a look at their existing logo and optimized it for smaller scale use and redrew for a better gestalt. In combination with that also expanded their visual language and provided a color palette based on their products, created a look book template for them, optimized an investor deck and consulted on their website visual language.

Very special shout out to Marisa Ma and Maurizio Donadi for being wonderful clients, great friends, and beautiful human beings.
Two lucky guys won a trip to Vegas to catch a Mayweather fight, brought on by Verizon Fios. Got to create the shot list and edit it all together. On top of that was able to source and direct the music. Much appreciation to Jeremy Colón for the crazy turnaround, but nevertheless solid music production.

I just came across the making of my short film! Haven't seen this in so long. This was a great short of a short shot by a beautiful soul, Nada Ray. Such a great time and such a great way to document the experience. This might have been the best time and best project in my life.
